UGGGGHHH!!!!

So once again, I have come up on the short end of the stick so I'm gonna keep this short and sweet. I competed or shall I say participated in the meet at Modesto today and it was another tough one. I'm not too sure what is going on but I definitely need to assess it quickly and get my act together. Time is passing and I am having a tough time. I will take the next week to really try and sort it all out. Long jumping used to be easy. I used to be good at this and every once in a while in training I know that I still am. So I have to stop, take a moment, and exhale. I've got to get it right. I finished 4th today from a field of 8 and my result, shall we say, was less than stellar. And that's all I have to say.

Now, on to some brighter news, for those of you who don't already read David Oliver's blog....check it out for yourself. He had an OUTSTANDING race over in Doha, Qatar!! 8th best performance EVER in history for his event. Click on the link and read it for yourself! I am more proud than words can say! Congratulations! You guys travel back safely.

Don't be so hard on yourself lady...your achievements may mean little to you...but to the rest of us...those who look up to you...those of us who are constantly pulling for you...everything you do is an achievement...and i know it will only get better! It will...believe that!

-i'm watching my favorite movie...Something Gotta Give...it's what i watch when i'm a little down an out, for some reason it lifts me up, gets me laughing an even doing a little crying. Find something that lifts you and just sink into it for a moment, then rest and get back to the business at hand...winning!

Awww, say it ain't so, Jackie!

Question: What is your state of mind before you jump? Are you going into your meets thinking about you didn't meet your expectations in the last meet and how you want this one to be different?

You don't have to answer here.

Don't beat yourself up too much. It's okay to pout for a little bit. Just let that pout be motivation for your on the next go 'round. It's in you. You just have to dig deep to bring it out.

I'm doing a post tomorrow on how I have allowed my thought process on past situations to have negative effects in the present.
